The Camino de Santiago on foot

The Portuguese Coastal Way is the route that reaches Santiago from the south, along the Atlantic. We walk its last six stages, from Baiona in Galicia to the cathedral square, and we walk them whole. Nothing is shortened.

Twelve days. Six of them walking and six of them not, and the days without walking are not filler. They are what makes the walking days work: a boat through the islands, a cellar in the wine valley, thermal water at 42 degrees, and one afternoon with nothing in it at all.

You arrive at the Obradoiro on foot, over the monte do Gozo, the way it has been done for a thousand years. The last five hundred metres are walked without talking. We tell you beforehand.

What is included

Everything, said plainly.

A physiotherapist who walks with the group, all twelve days.He is there at the end of every stage. No competitor on this route carries one.
A host, from the first night to the last.He sleeps where you sleep and eats at your table. He has already booked it.
Eleven nights in paradores, pazos and small hotels.Historic buildings in the stage towns. Two nights in the same place, twice, so the empty days can be empty.
Real food. Local, and from that morning.Every meal. What came into the market, cooked where it was landed. Wine from the valley you walked through.
A private boat through the ría de Vigo and the Cíes islands.One full day, no other passengers.
A winemaker who opens his own cellar.Albariño in the Salnés valley. Not a visitor guide, the man who makes it.
Thermal water at Caldas de Reis.It comes out at 42 degrees, onto legs that have walked for five days.
Private transport throughout, and a vehicle behind the group every day.Airport transfers from Vigo or Porto, and every movement in between. If one day you don't want to walk, you don't walk. Nobody keeps count.
Your luggage, moved for you.You carry water.

The group is small because there is one physiotherapist, and because the places where we eat are small too.

Four departures a year

They do not grow if demand does. Being looked after one at a time only works with a ceiling.

The whole way, walked

Six stages, none of them shortened. The first day of walking is 27 km. It is the longest, and it comes first.
